KARAOKE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS ARTICLE ON SHELVES NOW!!

Hey kids: My new HARP Magazine article "Karaoke Kings" hits newsstands this week. I'm actually quite fond of this piece, which details my foggy, drug-induced journey to the surreal Karaoke World Championships. It was essentially the Olympics of karaoke, where the best performers from more than twenty countries vied for the title, the cash prize and a shot at a record deal. Oh, and the event took place on a cruise ship in the icy Baltic Sea, alternating between ports in Finland and Estonia. And let me tell you, Estonia ROCKS.

Drugs, liquor, Russian prostitutes and gratuitous karaoke on an Eastern European party boat. In a word: Awesome.

Pick up a copy of HARP magazine (May issue, Nick Cave on the cover) at your local Borders or Barnes & Noble. You can also read this online via the HARP website at http://harpmagazine.com/articles/detail.cfm?article_id=5532

MOVIE DEAL W/ NEW LINE CINEMA!!!

BREAKING NEWS: In May of 2005, New Line Cinema expressed interest in purchasing the rights to my No Cover magazine article "Redneck Nation" as the basis for a feature film comedy. It took nearly a year to get all the lawyers, agents and contracts on the same page, but on Friday the deal was finally completed.

Yup, they're turning my article into a wacky comedy. Shane Morris, who penned the script for The Dukes of Hazzard movie sequel, will write the Redneck Games screenplay...
